Hauptwanderweg 5 of the Eifelverein runs north-south through the Eifel mountains, near the border with Belgium and Luxembourg. Actually, this trail ends on the border with Luxembourg, opposite the city of Echternach with its Basilica in which Saint Willibrordus lies buried. This HWW like the other main trails of the Eifelverein strings together many of the important and attractive places in the Eifel.
