Acadian Peninsula Trail

Bathurst – Shippagan, 96 km, 5 days

Acadia is a historical region in eastern Canada, New Brunswick. Farmers with French roots once settled here. They were largely self-sufficient. This atmosphere is still present in this French speaking part of the country and makes this hike special.

The path is a rail trail, mostly on gravel, for hikers and mountain bikers. Currently 96 km are completed, but the goal is to reach 250 km. You will visit villages, walk along lagoons and the sea is never far away. In the villages you will find sleeping facilities, stores and restaurants.

This path connects to the International Appalachian Trail and the Miramichi River Trail.
