Estergebirge
Description
The quiet Estergebirge lies in the shadow of the famous and hectic Wetterstein Mountains to the west. The Estergebirge range is situated between Loisach and Walchensee. In fact it is part of the Bayerische Voralpen. The geological composition is karst.
The highest peak is the Krottenkopf (2086 m), easy to reach for the ordinary walker. Hence one has a nice view on Karwendel and Wetterstein. You can traverse the range from north to south in three days.
