Slí Chonamara, Connemara Way, Galway - Oughterard, 240 km, 12 days
You may find waymarks in county Connemara saying “Bealach na Gaeltachta, Slí Chonemara”. Well, it’s a pity that this initiative is near to death. In 2007 the Connemara Way was officially opened. But in 2012, apart from a stray signpost, the trail is no more.
On the National Waymarked Trails website it says: “The layout and presentation of the walking route is being reviewed by the management group”.
Probably, you will find bits and pieces, using maps. Elsewhere, you will get lost for sure.
