One of the first Via Ferrata in the Alps was the Heilbronner Weg. Still today, this high route in the limestone of the Allgäuer Alps is very popular. Combined with a other trails, one gets a hike that is known as Heilbronner Höhenweg, although this does not follow a fixed itinerary.
