This path explores the southwest part of the province Fryslan, characterised by open grasslands, polders, small old villages and huge farm houses. In wintertime, when the chanals get frozen, this is the scene of the Elfstedentocht, a popular skating happening. The trail is created by the KNBLO hiking organisation and is marked red-blue.
