Flores, Azores
Description
Flores is one of the islands of the Azores, member of the western group of islands. Flores is a rugged and wild island. In its complex interior are many crater lakes, called “maar”. Highest point is Pico do Burrinho, 886 m high.
Best walks are on the western side of the island, with spectacular scenery, steep and densely forested slopes, and waterfalls (Ribeira Grande), one of the top spots of the Azores. The island houses many little villages all around.
