Dyfi Valley Way, Bala Lake

108 miles, 173 km, 8 days

The Dyfi Valley Way is a Welsh walk following the north bank of the river Dyfi, from its estuary to lake Bala. From this immense lake, squeezed in between the mountains, you turn around to walk back to the coast on the river's southern bank, passing through the historic village of Machinlleth. Of course there is a lot of proud history to dive into. From the valley floor the mountains may look stern and inaccessible. You will get ample opportunity to explore the hills yourself and find the odd rocky outcrop in the heather clad mountains, a shiny lake, and upland farms.
