Sir Walter Scott Way92 miles, 148 km, 7 days

This Borderland walk, south of Edinburgh, is connected to the famous Scotch writer Sir Walter Scott. He lived in this area and the trail passes many places that he visited himself and communities he knew well.

The walk passes through lowlands along river Tweed and has some hilly sections. The trail starts (or ends) in the bordertown of Moffat, and runs eastward to the coast, near Cockburnspath.

The trail is not difficult, and it is possible to finish it in six days with lodgings available. Much of the trail runs parallel to the Southern Uplands Way.
