Queensland
Description
Queensland, the Sunshine State, is located in the tropical north east of Australia. The far north has a typical monsoon season, but the popular coastal region - fancy the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast! - is warm and humid over the year.
Inland are popular hiking destinations on and around the Great Dividing Range, with forests, waterfalls and lookouts. Around the capital Brisbane many walks have been created. Thirdly, the sandy coast - Whitsunday, Hinchinbrook Island, Fraser Island - is very atractive to explore.
The Queensland authority has done a good job creating new outstanding long distance walks in the many beautifull area's and national parks. See the map.
