Ankogelgruppe
Description
The Ankogelgruppe is part of the Hohe Tauern, the famous Alpine Massif in Austria. It lies on the east side of this region.
This place is a lot quieter than the area of the Grossvenediger or the Grossglockner to the West. There are beautiful high Alpine walks on rocky trails and with some glacier crossings.
The highest mountain is not the Ankogel (3252 m) but the Hochalmspitze (3360 m). The area is divided into four groups: Ankogelstock, Hochalmspitzgruppe, and Hafnergruppe Reißeckgruppe.
