Congo-Brazzaville
Description
The Republic of the Congo, or Congo-Brazzaville, is located to the northwest of the much larger Democratic Republic of Congo (Congo-Kinshasa, formerly Zaire). The capitals of both countries: Brazzaville and Kinshasa, are both located on the Congo River, right across from each other. The Republic of the Congo is located in Central Africa on the Equator, with a hot and humid climate all year.
The Republic of the Congo has three national parks where multi-day hiking with guide is possible. In Nouabale-Ndoki National Park up north you can explore the rain forests on foot in search of lowland gorilla's. More gorilla's are to be found in Odzala National Park in the northwest of the country. Finally there is the Conkouati-Douli National Park on the Atlantic coast near the border with Gabon.
