Bosnie-Herzégovine
Description
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a mostly mountainous and forested country, with a short coastline on the Adriatic Sea. Close to the border with Montenegro is the primeval forest of Sutjeska National Park, whereas the rough Dinaric Alps have some truly wild mountain ranges and isolated villages. There are marked hiking trails in some areas, as well as mountain huts.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has both a Mediterranean and central European climate: summers are hot but winters can get cold, particularly at higher elevations where snow remains until April. The best time to visit is from May to September.
