Vechtdalpad, Zwolle - Gramsbergen, 70 km

The Vecht is a small river that flows from Germany into the Netherlands. It ends in Zwolle, merging with Zwartewater and flowing into Zwarte Meer and IJsselmeer. Formerly, the Vecht was a tricky river: floods in winter and sometimes completely dried up in summer. In the 20th century, the river was channelized. In recent decades, a lot of effort has been made to restore the natural values. This is very well done: the area along the river has become very attractive for walking. Moreover, it is quiet (pff)!

The Vechtdalpad is only partially marked, blue and white. You need the guidebook to find it. The walk is divided into four stages, each of which begin and end at a train station. This path is a secret winner.
