A set of 8 multi use trails in the south west corner of England, Devon. The name “Tarka” is derived from the book “Tarka the Otter”, acting in this region. Many sections of the Tarka Trail use former railways. Other parts cover landscapes like moorland, coastal cliffs, wooded valleys. The trail is made up of many other trails actually, like the South West Coast Path. The trail is popular with bikers and is well promoted.
