Some of the plains of Nebraska are attractive prairie grasslands with pine forests and badlands. Most is private land. The Nebraska National Forest offers some trails. The American Discovery Trail passes through Nebraska. Maybe more important is the Cowboy Recreation and Nature Trail, following the old Chicago Northwestern railway track.
