Jacobspad, Uithuizen – Hasselt, 209 km, 9 days
The Jacobspad is a pilgrimage route that connects to the international network of paths to Santiago de Compostela. The path begins in the north of the Netherlands, the town Uithuizen, at the porch of the beautiful old church of St. James. It runs through the provinces Groningen, Drenthe and Overijssel and finishes in Hasselt.
This Jacobspad is created with the aim to offer you a lovely walk and bring you into contact with some of the best parts of these provinces. It does not follow a special historic route, although it calls upon many old villages, often with medieval churches.
The trail is marked with the familiar shell, and there is a guidebook for sale.
If you rather start your pilgrimage in the province of Friesland, the alternative is the Jabikspaad, described elsewhere on Traildino.
